As I said used my favorite composer throughout his old and powerful themes again and varied this in new forms: The beautiful "Somewhere In My Memory" and the dramatic "Star of Bethlehem" are reinterpreted and sung by a church choir, magnificent and impressive. But the theme of the gangster comes back and shines in new versions and sounds a bit more threatening than the first part. In addition, there are known melodies, like the house theme in "Home Alone" or the fast-paced music, when McAllister are in travel stress ("We overslept Again"). Especially great is the again dramatically highlighted version of the "Star of Bethlehem" - the theme in "Preparing The Trap". So the connection is not a problem to its predecessor and feels right at home in Williams music!
Now the new issues, especially the wonderful "Christmas Star". The children's choir, which sings a charming piece that Williams himself wrote and which again has a charm of its own and also not a poor imitation of being "Somewhere In My Memory". Definitely the highlight of this sequel!
Also new are the motives to "Plaza Hotel" and "Duncan's Toy Store", which are summarized here in a track. A magnificent and opulent music for the first part and a playful melody for the second, the somewhat reminiscent of "Harry Potter" ...
"Concierge and Race To The Room" are also two tracks in one: The first part is again a new subject which has a little too much resemblance to the gangster theme, but still works. This theme is played fast-paced and fast-paced in the second part of the track then.
A highlight is particularly "Christmas At Carnegie Hall", a blend of three Christmas classics: "Come All Ye Faithful," "Oh Little Town Of Bethlehem" and "Silent Night". And these three pieces are here varies very elegant, great!
What is very good, is the finale: While the tracks are wildly jumbled this, but are even more dramatic and exciting design than in the predecessor. Since it is from time to time a little dark "Haunted Brownstone" or again more quickly ("Into The Park").
With "Finale" of the listeners of the great main theme is "Somewhere In My Memory" collected and with "Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas" will sound an opulent End title- song with a powerful choir singing this splendid song with full fervor, has I bowled real!
That would also be a wonderful piece of film music the continuation me was already clear, but I'm really blown away by the intensity of this soundtrack, not least because I'm a fan of Christmas music!
Williams manages a really consistent continuation of his success cores, a mix of the old, charming themes and new and powerful motives with its own character. For those who opt for an investment in this CD to put themselves, their joy will surely have it. For Williams and "Home Alone" - fans a must!
In this sense, Merry Christmas!
