Right at the beginning we get offered the wahrschienlich most impressive piece: "The Bells of Notre Dame". The bombastic main theme is an absolute highlight and is beautifully varied alone in this six-minute track of a loud and brutal fervor with choir accompaniment, bishin to gentle variations, fabulously. There are many dialogues and vocal performances from the film, with which the music is even more intense. A truly dramatic piece, with a wuchtigten end will knock the receiver out of the chair.
With "one-time" we get the theme for Quasimodo presents. A beautiful song with a lot of compassion for the character and the catchiest theme, in addition to the main theme.
"Kunterbunter Day" is a solemn track that accompanies the festival scenes and the listener just drags. "God, your children" Esmeraldas has beautiful song about their grief over their people.
The title "The light of the sky - the fire of hell" is a Gemsch of two songs, the love song of Quasimodo and the malicious curses of Frollo, the text of which are very risky for children ...
Finally, there is still something fun and Loose in between in order to defuse the serious issue somewhat: "A guy like you" is really funny song by the three gargoyles.
The score pieces are just as impressive as the songs. The title "The Bell Tower" "Paris is burning" and especially the auftreibende "asylum" are good examples, particularly the third track is a powerful finale! And with "The Bells of Notre Dame (Reprise)" sounds the soundtrack as grand as it began! The atmosphere is great, terrible and yet graceful and charming, especially the many choral inserts fit the music perfectly and also the movie!
The German voices and the translation are very well done and fit waunderbar how I find and prefer the German version, as well as "The Lion King" and "Toy Story", clearly before the original! In addition, I miss not the final song, "God, thy children" (a variation of the original), because the score alone is reason enough to buy this gem.
A great work of Alan Menken and a well-deserved Oscar. He who despises the annoying Kitschpopmischereien of "High School Musical" as much as I, who should turn back to the true Disney soundtracks. "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" is definitely a masterpiece and one of the best scores of Disney at all!
