Windows 7/8 perfect / Linux due

Have I gained 5i3ryh before short the NUC. Expansion with 8GB of RAM, 256GB M2.SSD 1x + 1x 1TB HDD / SDD. Under Windows Installation / driver without any problems. The only initial problem was the non-functioning fan control the Intel BIOS, fan ran consistently and clearly audible with 4000 revolutions / min. Only 2-tem BIOS update disappeared this problem, the fan is running now in normal operation with barely audible 950 revolutions / min (NUC stands on desk 60cm away). Performance of 5i3 for Office, Internet and video perfectly adequate. Simple games run with acceptable frame rates, but here you can not expect much of Dia.

Wanted to use in addition to Windows 7 in addition also Linux (elementaryOS, Linux Mint 17:01), here, however, there were all sorts of problems because of the new hardware. Time installation already did not work (elementaryOS 0.4 Freya), times could a higher FullHD resolution after kernel Ugrade (Linux Mint 17:01) are used and Intel Linux drivers for HD5500 are obviously only for Ubuntu 10.14 is available, so that those below current Linux Mint 17:01 LTS (Ubuntu 4.14) can not be installed (at least I do not get it after several attempts / workarounds, but I'm not a Linux expert).

Conclusion: Under Windows7 / 8 perfect, currently more suited only conditionally for "Only users" on Linux
