Player with many possibilities, even for Linux

Who grade a Windows and Linux, vociferous (Settings-> volume level: medium switch to high) MP3 / Video Player
studied with large bright screen (5.0 x 3.6 cm 320x240 pixels) for the small bridge video in bus, train or waiting room at the pediatrician should read on.

Sound:

Good sound with accompanying earphones but can ausreizen the actual potential of this player only with high end in-ear plugs.

Connection to the PC:

For Linux (in my case Ubuntu 10.04) and Windows (XP at me), the player acts as a standard mass storage device and can be filled like a normal USB stick.
Is an additional MicroSD / SDHC card slot in the player plugged in, which is flush with the case, this appears as a separate storage medium, very convenient!
Noteworthy was under Linux memory speed when saving music files to the built-in 8GB memory with about 10MB / s.
When storing images on a 4GB microSDHC SanDisk went there with approximately 5MB / s somewhat clearer (but what is on the card).

Panel:

Cover images in JPEG format max. 300x300 pixels in size, can be integrated as a front cover in any file and will be recognized by the player.
Playlists in M3U format can also be created and used on the player (other versions I have not tested).

Creation and sorting of music files:

To create: MP3, OGG, FLAC ... are on board.
Music files either by artist, album, title, genre, date and
sorted within albums to the registered in the ID3 tag Track number and not by the file name.
If there is no day of the title tag is used in alphabetical order.

Video and image files:

Image and video files must be provided in the resolution of 320x240 pixels. I use mostly for video Any Video Converter in the free version under Windows.
I have MPEG4 (DivX) codec as tested with 384kbps bit rate video and audio bitrate 128kbps and considered useful.
Thus, for about 100min movie accommodate in a large 350MB file or 10min in 30-50MB.
There is a possibility for storing videos with a private preview. Jpeg format max. 160x160Pixel (160x120Pixel optimal).
The preview must have as the video file has the same file name.
As file extension is used instead of the ending (and just as between the angle brackets, to the file simply rename)
Image files and photos are also accepted only in a maximum resolution of 320x240Pixel. JPEG.
It is therefore not help for the Sansa Fuze + own media library build.
But what makes perfect sense due to the lower memory requirements.

Audio Books:

Would be for all audio book fans important to write in genre tag, then audiobooks are automatically listed in the audiobook menu.
Unfortunately, all of the files is not very helpful because the audiobook menu are listed alphabetically at once.
I prefer rather than ID3 tag for audiobooks and save it as normal music albums. Now I find it true in the music folder
but under the menu item genre you find now the self-assigned genre type under the then all albums are listed as
tagged.
Important is to know that even the players will remember for each file being played where you left off.

RDS Radio:

That's right, the player is equipped with a radio with RDS. One sees so what channels you currently listening to. Nice holiday.
