The more I looked incredulous course as "Fall of the Samurai" was announced. Gattling and ironclads - which has awakened dreams in me.
And I was, what surprised me after the bad experience with Shogun 2, this time not disappointed!
In fact, for me personally, "Fall of the Samurai" next to Rome my favorite Total War title. Here's why:
Per
- Civil War happenings with possibilities fraction (reformers, traditionalists or independence). Initially surprising turns (eg opponent will ally or vice versa).
- Diplomacy AI seems to me better than Shogun 2
- Two completely different unit pools (modern versus traditional Truppengatungen) invite you to play and different tactics variants.
- Ship Battles Super implemented. Thanks ironclads and torpedo more hard-hitting action. Ships finally more manoeuvrable thanks to steam drive.
- Technology tree very well úmgesetztŽ. Significantly purifies Compared to Shogun 2 and nachvollziebarer.
- Character Development (generals, spies ...) well and also more clearly than in Shogun. 2
- Subjectively more units than in Shogun 2. elite units and guns really very strongly what she finally stands out clearly from 0815 troops.
- Bombadierungsmöglichkeiten from the sea in cities and require many units or bring new tactical possibilities. Sea War is finally also important!
- Compared to Shogun 2 here food capacity does not matter. It just depends on whether you have enough money to be able to build something.
- It seems so as if there would be compared to Shogun 2 significantly more action (and battles) on the Stratigiekarte
- Railway improved - although usually until around middle of the game - replenishment speed noticeably. Long troops traveling omitted then.
- Almost every group plays because of their own special abilities and different starting position
- New type of agents enriches game because he is also responsible for the training of units and thereby increase combat values of new units.
Neutral
- High level of difficulty to strategy map
- Gattling-Gun is personal to me weak. But does widerum also the balancing well as traditional units are not simply slaughtered.
- Addon running (somewhat unfair to buyers of Shogun 2; for newcomers well) without Shogun 2
Contra
- Very few individual special forces per country
- No movies at agents inserts
- Only training and no city struggles like eg Rome.
- Slaughtering AI not really bright
- New playable factions available only through expensive DLCs.
Conclusion:
It's just fun!
Who is not only on swordplay & co should this game look absolutely times.
