GAMEPLAY:
"Scribblenauts Unlimited" a kind of mix of platforming, adventure and puzzle game. You control the protagonist Maxwell as in a 2D Hüpfspiel right, left, up and down. On a world map you can select which level you want to play (which can an Egyptian desert, a big city, a fire station, the depths of the seas or a medieval castle to be). In each level you meet people or other beings who have any request and Maxwell to fulfill this by means of his magical notepad wishes. How? Either by writing an object (which may also be a living thing) or an adjective (a property). The aim is, if possible to find something right and you can even get really creative, because the list of words known to the block quasi, is relatively long (and he knows even more exotic terms such as "Rabbi," "Guy Fawkes- mask "or the 12 signs of the zodiac).
Sounds extremely easy per se, but some puzzles turn out but as tricky and require a little more brainpower and thinking time. Therefore, it will not get bored. Often located funny moments result from the partly wrong desires that have the figures or the ways how they can be met. In addition, you can objects and creatures with adjectives decorate (eg "purple", "dead", "flying" or "plaid").
You control with stylus pen and the 3DS buttons, you constantly switches between these controls (stylus pen = typing terms in the notepad, tapping and moving objects / creatures, buttons = running, jumping, look around). Here and there I read that this type of control depends rather poor. I find it also does not necessarily practical, but you get used to it.
Can you die in "Scribblenauts Unlimited"? ... Yes and no.
If Maxwell suffered injury, such as fire, attacking animals or humans, appear four hearts that gradually empty. Maxwell loses his life completely will only be asked if you want to continue or reset the current adventure. So there is no "Game Over" in the sense. The worst thing that can happen to a player is that he (that includes several wish-fulfillment) again have to do from the beginning a mission.
Oh yes: Who has gathered the 60 Starites and thus saves the nurse, for the game is not over yet. Then there are other issues that can solve and more Starites that you can collect.
GRAPHICS:
The graphics are fully supported in 2D, and there are few 3D effects, as the essential part of the game takes place in any case on the bottom of the screen. Only one or two movies at the beginning and after the main objective to use the 3D effect, but only to lean level.
But apart from that: Visually, "Scribblenauts Unlimited" kept quite cute and colorful. The character design is reminiscent of such as the animated series "Adventure Time". Just a pity that the minimally drawn faces express virtually no emotions (make sure more gestures, symbols and short exclamations). So all figures seem lifeless.
The animations are okay, limited maintenance, as just indicated on the body movements of the characters, otherwise not much movement in the picture.
MUSIC AND SYNCHRONISATION:
Also in terms of music, I was not excited much.
It's not terrible, but rather to herself dudelndes Easy Listening, the times of each level adapts here and there (so that it sounds even more after Christmas or to Egypt), but it leaves neither a lasting impression even fit to so many actiongeladeneren missions. They appear to be more relaxing music. It has already come so far that I've turned off the music in the menu, to run on my computer or else a different background sound ... or've also played with sound effects.
The sound effects? The are rather minimal. Especially, if you take off the music, you realize how little sound there. From time to time a human figure with a benevolent tone or with a shout logs, sometimes there's a short space sound and of course the short jingles at the fulfillment of wishes ... but otherwise was dealt sparingly with sound effects. Itself is not so bad, but just in animals which is a shame.
Menus and options:
The Start menu actually has three main menu items: Next (ie continue playing), options and data (management of storage locations). From "Options" you can determine whether the StreetPass function should be activated at all (and which will be used for avatar), and how the sound you want to configure (music and sound). By "control" is only explained how the control is created, you can not configure.
In the game itself is more open menu items. The selection "contributors" and "movies" (a maximum of two, which the Openings and after the solution of the curse) would fit better in my opinion to the main menu, but what the heck. Additionally, you can also save any time, the current level reset (if you have screwed up a few tasks) and an overview of the tasks to be seen ("splitter"). EXTRAS:
In each level, it is possible to unlock a brother of Maxwell and Lily. Then you can replace the character and instead (in the end, Lily) to play one of the brothers. Not to mention that each brother has his own outfit (whether swain, pirate captain or another) makes this option in the game no difference.
During the game, a symbol is stehts top right exists which makes it possible to get online advice of other players, so solution tips from other Nintendo 3DS users who also played the game. For the "Street Pass" feature must be activated in the menu.
CONCLUSION:
"Scribblenaus Unlimited" in my opinion is not a highlight of the Nintendo 3DS games, but certainly a nice little game to kill time in a creative way (on the road, of course). Even young players could find their joy in the game concept and colorful, cute graphics.
