+ Performance: The notebook handles all tasks quickly and is particularly impressive while playing through the powerful graphics card and fast processor. Low heat and fluid display even in graphically demanding games (Skyrim & Co. run without hesitation on maximum graphics settings). Start doing the Y50 within seconds, even without SSD.
+ Optics & feel: The laptop is strongly built and looks good, particularly convinced the aluminum housing. The keyboard is comfortable and easy to operate, the keypad backlighting is handy. Aeration is a big plus, very quiet and chocolate next to the laptop does not melt.
+ The Speaker: From a notebook you can be sure no stereo quality expected, but compared with other notebooks the Y50 suggests very good. Lots of noise and nothing of the subwoofer in the housing gives the sound a decent volume.
+ The display: I do not know what many have here against the display. It is not just a showcase sign of the laptop, but it works without objection, resolution and brightness are good, and I've always been a fan matte displays. However, the viewing angle stability can certainly be desired, but does not matter, as long as you do not plan looks from above or below. In the model with HDD ChiMei the display is installed in the model with SSD again a slightly better (as far as I know anyway).
0 Windows 8.1: The operating system works without objection, but the removal of the pre-installed application waste from Lenovo is a bit annoying. This is also some useful tools are included, such as holding a battery charge status Battery Manager constant at 70%, which is optimal for life.
0 DVD and VGA: Are not there. Should you perhaps mention, even if it already drinsteht in the product description.
0 The headphone jack: works perfectly, but is a bit tight. I fear every time I breakoff something when I purity headphones or get stuck. In general, one has in the ports feel Lenovo wanted to make even thinner at any price the notebook ...
- The touch pad: I never use anyway one, hence not störts me, but if I had no mouse would operate a cramp. Often little tips are not recognized and clicking go with mechanically separated keys ensure better by far. The entire touchpad is clickable and if you take a bit too much for turning a blind gestures, only comes in one search.
- The Wi-Fi: It emfiehlt not to use the computer either via LAN or set up a short distance to the router or a repeater. The Wi-Fi reception is there, but quite bad for a mid-range device.
- The hard disk drive (not necessary with SSD): I do not mean the speed, but the annoying every second scraping the hard drive. This always occurs when no programs are used and will not be written to disk.
- Lagspikes: The word should actually be a stranger in a laptop of this performance, but the problems are not only in high-end games, but in actually demanding free games (Terraria, Hearthstone ...). Happens a lot at one time, the game remains a Sekündchen Just hang and then continues. Unfortunately, my cause is unclear, on my old notebook with grottiger graphics card ran these games smoothly.
All in all, you buy a solid gaming notebook that all tasks done quickly and without problems. Should I find solutions to these issues as I will later add the rating one star. If someone has a little more idea than me, I am very pleased also about solutions.
