I bought the adapter to go fast times to take pictures from my camera to the iPad (3rd generation). This works fine. The adapter has been detected immediately, the images can be imported without problems.
I've tried the adapter even with iPhone 4S and Ipad 1st generation - unfortunately this does not work. The iPhone complains immediately that the accessory is not supported, the iPad 1 only reacts very slowly and hakelig to attach a dialogue on the Photo Import is not displayed.
Since the function in the product description but only for iPad 2 and iPad 3 reported that's fine.
The attached mini stick with mounting flanges in the headphone jack is a gimmick but it works well ... nice addition!
