"Inheritance" ("The Legacy") is a very powerful story, since the outset, the reader is intrigued by these two distant mysteries of nearly a century. The alternation between past and present provides continuous suspense, the author taking care to complete each piece with a moment which gives a terrible desire to know more. The writing and plot are of high quality, with that little something extra in the events and characters that touches on universal and visceral feelings and can therefore be ignored.
Halfway between Barbara Vine and Kate Morton, Katherine Webb offers an excellent time to read, so that despite the length of the book, we regret to see arriving the last page ...
