Wonderful story of the "American Heartland"

My Antonia is a novel about a Czech immigrant family that is trying to gain a foothold in the United States. In Mittelpunt focus is the daughter Antonia. The reader experiences with her highs and lows of their lives while preserving vivid descriptions of the American Mid-West. A book that not is full of tension, but it is written so beautifully that you can not put it down there.
