The legal guides published by the American Bar Association are excellent. The new edition of the guide "Franchise and Dealership Termination Handbook" confirms this. Tour the American right to the termination of distribution contracts (federal law and states) are presented in about 300 pages. Compared to the first edition which sometimes was critical on a too high level of protection of distribteurs, the second edition has been "cleaned" and is neutral to wanting an objective presentation of positive law. However, it is unfortunate that the critical introduction of the first edition that included very interesting observations and references to critical studies on the adverse effects of too much protection was purely and simply deleted. It would have been interesting to give a voice to supporters of each of theses and not to empty. This is unfortunate.
