A difficult book to read in its original version (in my case), but which nevertheless remains extremely addictive. The dramatic story that John Steinbeck built chapter after chapter, we gradually made aware of the inevitability of the sinister end of the exodus of the poor "Okies" a malaise that takes guts, growing as and as we move deeper into the story of this tragic fate. Beyond the interest of the story itself, in the American context in which it is told, this novel is a lesson to meditate vis-à-vis the current transposition of this story in shareholders' s borders Europe: how not to link with those that live today (Roma, Africans immigrants ...) who think find more hope in our borders and humanity than they leave in their country original ...
