Wonderful, tw. bizarre music dreams of Justin Vernon

No album for the masses - but a gem for music lovers who can engage in packed in grades feelings. The American folk songwriter Justin Vernon changed and perfected with his second album of its kind in the listener feelings and moods build by music. Goods on the first CD, the songs still very simple in construction, so is "Bon Iver" become more complex. This makes initially suspicious because Vernon adopted from indigenous Unplugged style of its predecessor. But the project "Bon Iver" is very independent, and is now best compared with a somewhat defused Peter Gabriel: Wonderful, tw. bizarre music dreams, the layer build up to layer and thereby develop very different: often occur starting with a cautious guitar chord carefully constructed eg swirling soundscapes or surprising rhythms - usually accompanied or supported by its getting used falsetto voice. At times, the music has a hynotisierenden aspect - but again, there are a surprising little corners, edges and turns that keep you awake and alert. Here with me setting by repeatedly listening has increasingly changed from "interesting" to "class" and "catchy" to "demand: I want to hear it."

Playing tips are for example Holocene, Tower, Calgary ... but better you should leave the act as a whole album - well, for example, in solitary, long road trips when you can get involved with the music. That in the present, often undemanding pabulum in the music scene really is such a thing still makes me happy. A star I would have to pull off, because 1. the album's cheeky short and 2. Vernon should (if you already build a wide musical environment) also perfecting the sound and mix. Otherwise the album but deserves 6 stars, it stays with fives ;-)
