And I'm fairly quickly encountered the Wicked Chili Car Dual USB Adapter.
The adapter makes a good impression optically, ie not spoiled the cockpit and also acts well finished. A control LED does not exist.
The chrome-colored strap which is used to pull out from the socket, is not made of metal, such as product photos could make might suspect, but plastic.
The adapter fits perfectly into the 12V socket of my Skoda Superb 2, sits firmly and does not wobble. It provides enough power to recharge while driving my Galaxy S2 relatively quickly with Bluetooth and GPS enabled. The phone displays here is that it is charged by AC and not via USB. Neither the phone nor the adapter is overly warm during charging, on the contrary: The software installed on the phone battery app registered for my first test while charging via the adapter a 10 degrees lower battery temperature as the regular store about belonging to the mobile original power supply.
Addendum beginning.
My last test took place under difficult conditions.
Galaxy S2: WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, switched UMTS, screen brightness set to maximum and permanently switched on, running Google Navigation with activated Blitzer.de app in the background.
Even here, the adapter supplied enough power to keep the phone not only prior to unloading, but during the 1.5 hour drive away the battery even by a good 20% recharge. During this test, but the phone more than 50 degrees battery was exceptionally warm, while the adapter was unchanged room temperature.
Vindictive.
A test with a BlackBerry Bold 9000, however, was not successful, the phone will not charge. Although the unit advances by after plugging the USB cable to the appropriate screen, but the thunderbolt in the battery icon does not appear. Since this is not a question of my own unit, I unfortunately could not test if not now turn to win by the time the battery to charge.
The charging two devices at the same time is working properly, has been tested a Galaxy S2 with a Galaxy S.
The only downside with this product:
The adapter is a bit too far out from the wall outlet. This creates a large 5mm gap between the top of the socket and the base of the rim, in the you plug in the USB cable. The cover of the storage compartment in the center console can therefore no longer completely close when the adapter is to remain unused in the socket without connected devices.
I would recommend this adapter without restrictions.
