An HDMI Matrix should not be confused with an ordinary HDMI switcher. An HDMI switch can connect multiple inputs to one output, for example if the LCD TV has enough inputs. With a HDMI Matrix has much more possibilities, since you can not only distribute multiple inputs to one output, but equal to several outputs. So you can connect the inputs and outputs as desired with one another. This is eg useful if you want to see the signal for the projector to control parallel to the TV.
Delivery
The package still includes in addition to the matrix, a remote control, power supply, and an easy to understand instructions.
The integrated amplifier is especially useful for long distances to the projector.
Quality and processing
The housing is made of metal and is very stable. The input and output jacks also make a sturdy impression and likely numerous inputs and Aussteckvorgänge easily survive. For non-slip stand are 4 pads in which you have to fix itself.
Connections
The HDMI Matrix has 4 inputs and 2 outputs. In addition, even a SPDIF Toslink and 3.5mm jack output available in order to pass the tone regardless of the selected inputs on an AV receiver.
The audio signal is generated, however, only one of the two outputs. Therefore you should only connect Output A to the projector, not output B!
Installation and Operation
After connecting the inputs and outputs, the power supply is connected and the matrix starts in the basic configuration, input 1 to output A and output B. This configuration is made even after a reset with the reset button again. Thus one is not in use, the power adapter must not, the matrix also has an on / off switch.
The assignment of the inputs to the respective outputs can be carried out directly on the switch by pressing the A and / or B button repeatedly. Each press switches an input on. Unused inputs are skipped.
It is easier to use with the remote control, because you can assign the desired input directly to the respective output here.
Operating
In operation, a quiet, but high-frequency buzzing noise was initially wahrhnehmbar. One heard even a few meters away. After a complaint from the manufacturer me a new power supply was delivered, with the no longer experience the problem. Switching takes some time and is not comparable to the switch of a channel on the TV. 1-2 seconds, the matrix already takes time to switch between inputs.
Although I next to a satellite receiver also a Marantz NR 1501 AV receivers have connected - the turn numerous digital (Blu-ray Player, Xbox360, WD TV Media Player), and analog sources (eg Nintendo Wii via component input) are supplied - is behind the matrix on the projector and LCD TV to a clean signal.
Conclusion
The LIGAWO Matrix does what it should. It allows me to switch between TV and projector. Although due to my AV receiver and the connected sources of the signal path is very long, it has no negative impact on the image quality.
Therefore, I can recommend the LIGAWO matrix without restrictions.
