I was very pleasantly surprised that this HUB the Raspberry Pi _NICHT_ further powered via the USB-B port with electricity after the Raspberry was separated from its supply voltage.
Some I tested HUBs other manufacturers this was not the case, with the result that the minicomputer has eventually suspended, rather than shut down or restart itself.
The power of the Raspberry on one of the USB-A (Power) ports also works perfectly.
According to D-Link specification ([...]), the 5 so-called "white ports" are each loaded with 0.5 A and the two "black port" with 1.2A. That makes a total of 4,9A. The included power supply brings only 3A. Even if all 7 ports with 0.5A, 3.5A So overall, charged the power supply seems undersized.
The I tested devices (various USB drives, Smart Card Reader, HDD, SD card reader, USB sound card, WLAN, wireless mouse and wireless keyboard) have been properly recognized and worked to the extent drivers were present, flawlessly with this HUB.
I can only recommend the stroke and the power supply should be sufficient for most applications. Who needs more current than 3A can check with D-Link, if also a more powerful power supply can be used at the HUB.
