Since I do not have AV amplifier, but "only" a good audio amplifier, I needed a way to decouple the 5.1 audio signal from the Rasperry Pi-HDMI datastream. That works just fine with this device. Only necessary change:

In the SD card config.txt with Raspbmc must additionally the line

hdmi_force_edid_audio = 1

be inserted. Then there's also the de multichannel opt-out of the device.
So I can now easily stream my movies from my NAS via rasperyy Pi and enjoy the multi-channel sound on my investment.
