When unfolding the legs of the tripod today broke one of the legs right at the joint from - without that I have spent more force than was necessary to unfold. At the breaking point in cast aluminum no bubble can be seen, which would make a break to explain, so it's hopeless to demand the statutory 2-year warranty directly from the manufacturer. A "material defect at risk transition" I could not prove without expensive material appraisals. I mean, I would sit in the complaint handling department of the company, I would assume, given the fine-pored also in the spotlight cast on the breaking points from the fact that the user is probably stepped on. But I'm not. :-( Fact no incorrect operation, ie from normal use different force is present, not even excessive wear -. I use parallel still 5 other tripods and it also did not break under the weight of a DSLR with hochlichstarker telephoto zoom lens (although the tripod with advertised 2 kg load capacity), but just when you open, after it had been used in his short life mainly for a small camcorder and a Fuji X100. The bias of the legs by the way set by the lower nut. where I had never shot because the voltage is too high for my taste, neither was still too weak.
I prefer retrospectively from a star for the mE obvious material error and another that the snappy little ball head must be regrettably discarded after fracture along with the rest of the stand (machine screw instead of standard tripod thread).

Old review:
What good is an expensive, highly stable stand when it has not there due to its heavy weight !? I own next big tripods for 15 years as a small pocket tripod by Leitz Wetzlar (Leica), which would keep pace with an equally winning as expensive and heavy ball head itself a medium-format camera. Only I have rarely used due to its weight outside the apartment.
The Manfrotto is a completely different caliber: Easy enough to actually be always with you, it nevertheless still holds an adult lens reflex camera with a larger lens (Pentax K7 with Tamron 2.8 / 90, for example) without any problems. Clear should be used in such a combination or similar in marginal exposure the mirror lockup.
Actually, I bought it just for my lighter worlds video camera. But as I said, it also keeps - to my surprise - certainly a SLR / DSLR, if the look is not too top-heavy. Given its small size, the small ball head is remarkably snappy. This part belongs to each photo or video bag. Unless you want to be more flexible in terms of height adjustment and does not interfere at high weight.
Because the weight is given here with 0.2 kg: There are 166 g.
