So far so good ... and now it gets a little gross!
The Westonburgerpresse is pretty much the most expensive product, which can be purchased online in the Republic and it is quite legetim expect a corresponding processing and to get even.
The complete press is made of aluminum die-cast, no topic is indeed not a bad production methods if it is not done so luschig, like my copy. Incidentally noted on the bottom of the product is in bold letters "Made in China". But this need not be a sign of quality per se.
There is the thread for setting the press plate a thick material error, it quite simply missing a piece of thread, and the coating to protect the thread against oxidation is applied with an out-of-tolerance thickness. If you disassemble the press, can be found on the plates carelessly machined burrs and also poorly applied coating. Mostly peeps through the raw aluminum. After three iterations, and cleaning begins, the aluminum "to bloom", ie the Oxiadationsprozess calls its right to exist.
The life expectancy of the press is greatly reduced, in my view it. Worse, the usual standard in this country on food hygiene should not be achieved and maintained.
Too bad if there are up to the production quality no further concerns on a product, it would have the potential to be a absolute hit !!!
My request to the company Weston ... by the press or elsewhere improves quality control at the present Chinese manufacturers and it is a top product!
