It is however difficult to write something about this book without anticipating major events and to detract from the pleasure of reading. But one thing is certain:
Few readers will expect a work of such intensity. With partly phenomenal rate Sanderson drives the reader in front of them, compresses the events with a keen sense of the great moments that you missed quite often painful at the last band.
Part amazed sometimes stunned to be seen how death and devastation unfold, personal tragedies occur and not sparing even the main characters. Tarmon Gaidon has begun and mankind fights for its existence. Once again playing the "Forsaken" from its devastating power. But in their almost desperate act unmistakably reflects her tragic fate ambivalent. Above all, that of Moridin and Demandred.
And the final Ausseinandersetzung edge with with "the immeasurable evil"? A little unexpectedly presents itself this has largely in the form of a dialogue of almost approaches a philosophical discourse. The ideas could be shared to be sure.
Yes, there is also a weak moments. Some of the interesting characters that have shaped and enriched the story die far too casual, some rather unnecessary, as it were, in the last seconds before the end. Needless therefore because you end summoned but seems useless. The dramatic increases no longer. Above all, however, leaves the actual end of the reader with the feeling that the story though now "a" has an end. But it is rather not the end that one has anticipated or desired. So the epilogue is very specifically
unsatisfactory.
Nevertheless, "A Memory of Light" is a good and interesting book. Both the author and the story are the expectations of most readers surely meet and at least in some sections it makes the magic of books such as the "The Great Hunt" resurrect.
Closures may be remembered how much enthusiasm but also criticism "Wheel of Time" has caused repeatedly. Some
may have been turned away bored or angry. But let's not forget one thing. It's a downright stunning company, a saga with more than a dozen volumes to create anda extent of several thousand pages. Although over the years has accumulated a lot of inconsistencies or superfluities, heard "The Wheel of Times" certainly one of the best works has to offer the fantasy genre. Hats off, before such creativity.
Kudos also for you Mr. Sanderson ... Mr. Jordan would certainly have been pleased with their work.
