But back to the actual review: As I said, much has changed for the second part is not.
- Are new "mini-missions": Man overhears some passersby, and then receives a mission to find an object for that person. This "finding" but has never really independent missions to follow: One finds the objects when scanning planets from orbit or in the course of other, story-related missions. For me, a small step backwards - You feel like part of the intergalactic postman, and it is often seen not good if you have an object already bagged, or still have to find. Nothing of the fact that you have to find the 'quest giver' to the Citadel again. Logical, but play-technically weak implemented: Just in terms of the situation in which the player is.
- It is possibly on the multiplayer part of the game depends if you want to experience the "best" end. After all, a central element of the game coupled thereto: You have to collect about the game his allies. How strongly these are calculated on a coefficient "Galactic Readiness". And this value can * only * increased about multiplayer games, or he sits for ever at 50%, and virtually halved the effectiveness of the single player efforts. How best to handle this mode? In the first two games the right decisions (a bonus), and! Important! free DLC 'Extended Cut' install. The makes it numerically easier to get the best ending to face. Even with 50% Galactic readiness. For someone who does not have the old score, or the wrong decisions taken there has (and / or not played DLC) is multiplayer possibly the only way to see the best ending.
- Also the (partly paid) DLC included in the strength of the allies with a. If you have not, for example, Kasumi Goto or Zaeed, you do not see (small) part of the game and therefore can not collect as many points.
- Needed to play Origin, EA's answer to Valve's "Steam". The Origin service has made headlines lately of itself, because European privacy advocates have taken action against him. Since the terms and conditions are acceptable to some. And yes, this one has to agree. Without Origin, no Mass Effect. 3
0 There are the hacking minigames no longer - the Omni-tool does it all reliably automated.
+ In contrast to the second part you can play around a bit with his weapons again. There are more of them, they can create more targeted (weapons now also have weight, which affects decay), and you can improve it and modify it with telescopic sights, stabilizers, light metal construction, etc.. Also armor (and parts) there are a few more than in the second part.
+ The story itself is told extremely well and in the first two parts. Precisely for this reason I also "FedEx" are missions as misbehaving - the contrast between the main story and the "filler" is simply very visible. But the defense had said, it would not fit, great incorporate side missions. But the main story is too important, too urgent. And of course, are again old friends of the party - Garrus, Tali, Liara and others. And also a few new, which (unlike the second part, where I have a few new very inappropriate place) very well in Shepard's team classified.
+ The graphics are consistent. I've heard that some people describe it as dowdy. I can not confirm (but I also do not play more Shooter). Whether playing through Tuchanka, makes shopping at the Citadel, or kabbelt with James why he calls a 'Lola': The graphics always makes a good impression and make it at any time, the setting and the characters impressively on the monitor bring to. And the effects have continued to improve compared to the second part. It's just incredible fun to miss with a sniper rifle headshots (especially against 'Guardian' opponents who carry around a huge sign in front of him. Stupid, for she has that thing a viewing slot ...)
+ The voice acting in English (!) Version as well as in the first two parts extremely well. Who does not know Jennifer Hale as FemShep who has missed something.
+ Much controversy there was about the end. I've only played with the Extended Cut, and must say that it was a fitting end for 'my' Shepard. And yes, I had tears in my eyes. I do not think has ever been so touched a PC game myself. But well, I play possibly for a large proportion of people wrong, and see it as a story more than a game.
(-) A small downside there but in terms of history: Apparently an important character was in one of the novels created for the game, which then in ME3 has a grand entrance. For people who have not read this story, this character is absolutely no warning. In itself not a problem, but it has a significant impact on the game, and for such players (like me) that feels very strongly by Diabolus Ex Machina.
CONCLUSIONS: Overall, a worthy conclusion to the series, the apparently weak conclusion is enhanced by the free DLC 'Extended Cut'. Warning: The end is not a Hollywood ending. But no Gainax-end ;-). Some weak points (FedEx missions, benefits by previous DLC, Origin and the importance of -eventuelle- Multiplayer) cause I unplug a point. 4/5 stars the game has well earned.
Worth knowing about this specific version (download version of Amazon): The version automatically installed, the German version (the installer gets probably the info from the registry which language the operating system). Not, as I have read here, the English! For I have brought the downloadable version of Amazon me specially for this info - I like to play in the original. Fortunately other language versions are included in the installation. One only needs to change two values in the registry. As it goes, can be found everywhere on the net.
