Worthy successor to Deus Ex!

Deus Ex: Human Revolution Limited Edition (computer game)

Customer Review

I bought the game the same day of publication, and the first impression was disappointing because in the pack there is no manual, but only two leaflets. The manual can be Online - or not.

The installation I had imagined annoying (like GTA 4), but except for the link with the Steam went quite harmless. stately seven GB were to copy and activate the game once on Steam.

Match started:
At first it's going slowly with simple dialogues and first missions. This you learn the game mechanics, which is an extra person in close short video tutorials. The first game sections are indeed fade a bit, but I'm well into it come into play.

Technology:
The graphics are similar to Deus Ex, which is a very cold, impersonal world. There are many generic objects, such. as the same old flower pots. The polygonal objects are often criticized, but are suitable for the graphic style and remember the first part. I like the graphics good, especially the atmospheric lighting effects. Music and sound are similar to the first part, which suits me well.

The game crashes with me not off, runs smoothly on a four year old PC and the loading times are also within the scope of what is tolerable.

Gameplay:
I am roleplayers and enjoy playing slowly. That's why I'm building my character as Adam Stealth - figure on a la Splinter Cell. While fighting I'll usually but then discovered and then just continue fighting against the remaining opponents in shooter style. I read a lot of detailed information and take the story to make with. This has even philosophical character.

However, "stealth" rewarded with more experience points, so this style of play will be rewarded by the game and the other options are inferior. I regard this as a design flaw and should be nachgepatcht.

Story:
Here I will not tell you much, just is already clear from the outset that there is a complex back story that unfolds slowly. If one takes all the information, the playing time may double to well.

Battles:
I have read that opponents are stupid, but they are not! As with Mass Effects are everywhere boxes and containers to hide behind what looks very constructed. But the opponents do not run blindly into the fire, but know how to fight back. I play on the leichtstenSchwierigkeitsgrad and get relaxed by the still challenging fights.

The fights do but much more fun than other games because the opponent usually not blind to the player zustürmen but tactically behave quite well. Too good but they should not be, because the player would then have a chance.

Interface / Control:
The interface is well structured, there is also information on the way to mission objectives and good overview of the augmentation. But the inventory is once again too small and annoying as the first part.

Locations:
Only everything plays in halls boring, but then it goes out into the world to great locations. The cities include so many details that I will honor only when multiple Durchsppielen.

Level / claim:
One has to think along with Deus Ex and so play as if you really have in this world! Just shoot's more, you have to make momentous decisions ever again. For this, the philosophical debate about the meaning / nonsense of augmentation. The last game with a similar claim was - Deus Ex ... In 2001, the penultimate Ultima 7 in the early nineties (in my view).

Conclusion:
Huge game world, great variable gameplay, high replay value, good technology, exciting story with depth and always several solutions. For me, Deus Ex is - Human Revolution the best game in recent years. For this, the game is extensive, I expect more than 50 hours per playthrough.

If you liked the first part, which can be bought without hesitation.

Five stars I admit, because the overall package is more than good. A real weakness I do not see as well as the extent true.
