Technically, the spreading over several years of recordings does not feel, excellent "remastering". All of St. Martin-in-the-Fields in training contributes to reduced rather excellent sound clarity and highlights the rarely heard partition details. Brendel fits a "classic" view with extreme elegance in phrasing, and a great homogeneity on the entire integral. I class on par with full-Schiff Vegh, Perahya; the Haskill-Fricsay version remains slightly below, because of its more uneven technical quality. Of course, other interpretations remain isolated also interesting, but an integral allows to judge evenly throughout the work.
