Optics / haptics:
Visually, the XBox 360 is presentable. I am glad to have received the matte version, because I'm tired of seen me on piano lacquer. Whether the Slim now is more beautiful than the previous version, I can not judge so completely, they both found quite respectable and are at the same level. Positive note, the USB ports on the back, on the PS3 you miss it sorely. The disadvantage I feel that is blocked when using the AV adapter to the HDMI connector. Because I want to use multi-zone settings, the PS3 has the advantage. But that does not really bother reconnecting. The operation via the controller is very easy and similar to the PS3. That's not bad and simple.
The controller fits comfortably in your hand and you get used to fast on the new key assignment. From the weight distribution I find him a bit unbalanced as the DualShock. 3 In effect, the two controllers are tight but each other.
EDIT: After a little familiarization I have zuegeben that the controller is better yet in hand. If you play for a while so the XBox controller of the PS3 feels afterwards then something shaky and smaller. MENU NAVIGATION
The menu system is very easy for a little getting used to and is clear. Unfortunately, something nested. Certain settings are distributed illogical and often there are multiple ways to perform an option. This leads to more confusion. A somewhat better, more logical arrangement would be desirable.
EDIT: In the meantime, the new dashboard is there. Unfortunately, nothing has been changed to the nested menus. As before, there are 3 or 4 paths to the goal, and a hidden than the others. This is better, especially since some things are still distributed illogical.
GRAPHICS:
Since I have not yet soo tried many games, which is a little hard. But the constant graphic war I can not understand. On both consoles the graphics are on a very high level and looks very good. In Fifa 11 I see little difference despite switch. Only the brightness and contrast are different. In the Grafikqualtät hardly seen benefits at a console. The famous comparison between GT5 and Forza 3 looks a little different. But here are only marginal differences. The car models are on the same level. While the routes sometimes look better in Forza, are prettier when GT5 other routes. Forza boasts a nicer damage model and GT5 with better smoke effects. When the balance is drawn from the fact that both consoles do not have to hide each other and therefore no reason is visible to a graphic war.
SOUND:
Here I have to honestly express some disappointment. Certainly Dolby Digital is a good codec, but you can hear clearly out that the sound quality is far behind the PS3. So it is not just because the PS3 HD sound formats can, but it also solves Dolby Digital and DTS on higher and creates more momentum here. But that's whining at a high level. You have to listen carefully very perceive these differences in Dolby Digital.
EQUIPMENT:
The XBox is affected more by the so-called core gamers. This is evident also in the equipment. Here, the controller of the PS3 is luxury. The browser of the XBox other hand succeeded. But similarly to the PS3 it to work as quickly as on a PC by far. XBox vs Playstation! The fight there will be more and that's good.
