The First Lady of Rockabilly and Rock'n'Roll singer Americas number one is back with a huge album produced by Jack White (White Stripes, Raconteurs, The Dead Weather). It starts with an Elvis-alike intro which merges seamlessly into the first cover of the album, the Johnny Kidd & The Pirates classic "Shakin 'All Over". That is loaded with distorted guitars and a totally overloaded horn section, plus the somewhat brittle voice of 73-year-old icon, which is also still alienated, what can seem a bit obscure the whole song and the original in any way the water can reach. It follows the classic Little Richard "Rip It Up" - again provided with this Blues Brothers Band Set, a piano use only in solo, a driving drums and whining steel guitars. In the third song "Busted" makes you feel like in a beer tent somewhere in Iowa. The Andrew Sisters classics "Rum and Coca-Cola" is replaced by a completely new touch and has very little to do apart from the vocal melody with the original, but can be quite happy with me produce. The Bob Dylan cover "Thunder On The Mountain" has absolute Hitqualitäten and somehow reminds of the times of "Let's Have A Party". It follows a great interpretation of Amy Winehouse song "You Know I'm No Good". The following five songs, the album flattens a little, so I come to the conclusion: fullminantes comeback Mrs. Jackson - but at such a cult song like "Funnel Of Love" (1961) is insufficient production somehow zoom.
