In terms of content, the book is to be taken as an identification of the key characters (ex .: Geralt, Triss Merigold of, Yennefer, Dandelion, Shani, Rience) whose actions will influence the saga and bring conclusion. It is also an opportunity for us to discover in depth the places mentioned in previous volumes, and in the game (ex .: Kaer Morhen), but also browse extracts from books read by the characters and that are referenced in the game Video The Witcher.
If the omniscient narrator in previous volumes concentrated only around the point of view of Geralt, in this volume that takes the time to also address the views of the other characters. This is a great idea because it enriches the story from different perspectives, and allows us to discover different perspectives of the characters have on other individuals like Dandelion, Triss, and Ciri Yennefer.
As usual, Sapkowski has the merit to create many diverse and relevant dialogues with his characters. Their views are clear, detailed and enjoyable to read. Although at times I wondered if some dialogues could have been shortened, I have much appreciated nonetheless.
Finally, I think it was a good idea to take the video game illustrations. They are richer and more detailed than the first version in French and give the story a dramatic appearance.
