My advice to everyone and especially to those who are not convinced that we must defend secularism at any cost and work of the most urgent ways for secularization will spread up around the world, read this book absolutely enlightening and fully documented what "crossfire" (The two authors are experts in the religious question and have already committed other books on the subject). Yes, fundamentalists of the three monotheistic religions are indeed a major threat to democracies and everything related to the human rights and they take advantage of any flaw or lesser excess of tolerance that democracies in general and lay people in particular are showing towards them. Do not stop on this misconception of thinking that only Muslim fundamentalism is dangerous and Fiammetta Venner and Caroline Fourest clearly expose us the thing. Christians and Jewish extremists, even if they are subject, by their very presence in the geopolitical universe, a power-cons relatively strong compared to their Muslim counterparts, kill also the name of God and endanger our liberties . "Crossfire" is a very well written book, accessible and enjoyable to read, and which, moreover, exacerbates and fed our desire to learn more. The authors describe not only how religious arrive at themselves as victims of those they call "laïcards" (trap of "victimization" in which sometimes unfortunately fall some of the most fervent human rights activist) and hazards induced by religious (sexism, intolerance of freedom of sexual orientation, obscurantism, etc ...) but they also know back to the origin of the three religions and their evolution to enable us to understand well certain phenomena. Another asset and not the least of this book is to show how, even if otherwise they hate viscerally, fundamentalists of all three religions are quick to ally when it comes to advancing the influence of divine justice. To understand where the danger is, read this book. Absolutely.
