This book format 21 x 29,7 is overwhelming at first. The huge number of photographs gives her a look of comic, and the layout and the color choices are of "amateur" side pointed here by other reviewers. Dominique has clearly Soltner all designed itself rather than relying on a real publishing professional.
But this antiquated layout it is enough to disqualify the louvrage background? For starters, Soltner is a real agricultural engineer graduated from the School of Agriculture dangers, who wrote a series of books to the attention of farmers; it is not merely a reporter to summarize of study done by others.
As soon as one consults the summary (which curiously napparaît that page 7), we are finally beginning to understand that there is a guideline in this colorful profusion. Are discussed in turn:
- Gardening on mulches (coverage by all kinds of vegetables, hay, leaves, vegetables, vines, grass clippings, hedge sizes). This technique is suitable for everything that transplanted (salads, tomatoes, etc.), with potatoes and large seeds (onions, beans, etc.). The case of green manure (crops for soil improvement) is treated in this part.
- Gardening on green composts, from composting stations created by the will of Parliament since 2002. This method is well suited to those who are struggling to obtain mulches, and is needed for sowing in place (corn salad, carrot , radishes, etc.)
- The variations and combinations, Jean Pain method, BRF (Bois Ramial Fragmented).
On the BOTTOM, this book is perfect. It contains a minimum of theoretical explanations and guides the reader step by step, depending on its context and the time of year that it intends to launch. This book helped me understand the cause of some of my past failures occurred because I had followed the advice of others who themselves did not dominate them. I also realized the benefit of green compost sold at very low prices by composting platforms that now exist in all regions.
Warning: this book is not an introductory book in the garden, even though the author gives some advice on the cultivation of certain vegetables. The beginner must acquire a basic book on vegetable crops, even to add this "new gardening guide" to control everything that concerns the "work" of the ground.
