Clearly the best Wise Guys album

Free! (Audio CD)

Customer Review

"Free!" is in my opinion the best album of the Wise Guys - and not just because of the described "We-are-this" feeling, but also perfectly rational reasons:

The album has a motto that - a first for the Wise-Guys-albums - can still be found in almost all the songs, namely "freedom" (as old-fashioned as it may sound) in the form of resolution limiting habits, thought patterns, etc. Especially clearly that is naturally in titles such as "I want to you", "Water", "We had a good time" or "autumn lake". Of course, extravagant philosophical clashes with this term are out of place on the album. The music of Wise Guys supposed to be fun.

On the album there - also a novelty - only songs that convince both musically and lyrically. On older albums, there were also times pure "Blödel songs" such as "Jokes aside", "You are stupid!" (Both "plain language") or the like. Although they were lyrically very funny but musically rather boring. Also on "free!" While there are songs like "All in the Air" and "Schiller", which might be prone to messing about - but these songs have their place, because it is tried, how far you can go with their own voices. There are on "free!" not songs that you as an experienced Wise-Guys-listener skips sometimes, that is not the song "second class".

Overall, the Wise Guys leave with "free!" a much more mature impression than previous albums, the live becomes stronger. That is why "free!" of course, never a substitute for a Wise Guys concert, I can recommend at this point strongly. But for a cappella bands incredible second place in the album charts is absolutely right - and the album for every Wise Guys handset a must.
