I use the Etekcity PH meter especially for pH measurements in my swimming pond (~ 8.0 PH). The pH measurement is easier and more accurate read as with the previous use of gauges, where you have to determine the pH value by means of a color scale. The Etekcity fluctuates during the measurement in the range +/- 0.1 ... + / - 0.2 PH values - to an accuracy of +/- 0.1 PH achieve, the display should first ever remain stable. The calibration using buffer solution is common, the single point adjustment via trimming potentiometer (the no Mehrgangpoti is) is ok for this cheap device class, but leaves no perfect calibration over the entire measuring range to - you should therefore possible to calibrate with a reference solution the close to the expected pH value. Better devices allow for the separate adjustment of offset and gain, so that the measuring range by means of two reference measurement can be calibrated. For the measurement in pond, pool and Co. The pH meter is an alternative to the test strips and ensure the accuracy and perfectly adequate - for higher demands you should look around for what else. WARNING: This product is not waterproof, therefore we may really just immerse the probe!
The Etekcity PH pen was left to me for free for testing.
