Even at my RX100M3 me the logic of the focus point setting was not quite clear. I understand it to this day do not know why Sony offers the Touch Focus trigger function in fewer cameras - because for me that was the reason for changing saddle of DSLR on Mirrorless!
For the hardware of the A6000 + the luxury, like lightning in every corner of the image with a mere touch (sharp!) To be able to trigger - that I renounce gladly on the viewfinder and a few additional controls (it's exactly what in 5100 was saved). In addition, the 5100 is really cheap and also again smaller than the already compact 6000th
A single dial? Nix power, still well resolved by Sony: Depending on the mode the camera it fulfills a variety of tasks that do not come in the way. Even ISO is easily accessible. I'm missing just a shortcut to AF mode. (UPDATE: have this feature on - set button, su [?])
And now for the downside:
It is the unpleasant noise from ISO 800, especially in under-exposed areas of the skin, which then quickly act dirty-gray in the JPG output, partly with terraced gradients. Perhaps this is due to the 24 MPx completely overloaded APS-C sensor (even if, for example. Nikon similar task better hinkriegt).
(UPDATE: Oddly, this effect occurs mostly with the high-intensity Zeiss 24mm, and hardly at all with the kit zoom!)
Since I can only say: Love Sony engineers, please rising from the Megapixelwahn arms race from !!
UPDATE 02/05/2015:
A couple tips on operation.
As shortcut or function keys usually missing, and the menu is very extensive and not very intuitive, I recommend to build yourself in the head a couple of mnemonics. I remember the most important entries to the formula [MENU LEVEL] [Page No.]. For Example:
JPG / RAW: 11
AF modes and fields: 13
Metering fields: 15
More frequently used functions are always housed very fit on the keys of Steuerkreuzrads.
Click the [?] - Button (calls in shooting mode Help information) I put the choice of auto focus fields. This has the advantage, which is also determined by the appropriate AF mode without making a trip to the Extra menu. For example, point measurements -> Contrast AF, or field measurement -> Hybrid AF.
And now for repeatedly emerging question of whether the auto focus in the dark is really slow. The answer is: With the two Kitlinsen 16-50 & 55-210 Unfortunately, yes, sometimes he pumped long. With the 24mm f1.8 everything is wonderful, the lens is on the A5100 crazy fast. For other lenses I can not speak (yet).
