Technical:
The "origin" is X553MA-BING SX367B (manufacturer ASUS).
Was shipped the device with 8 GB RAM and 750 GB hard drive - Windows 7 Professional (64-bit version) preinstalled use ready. A "Safety Silberling" is not included. For but a suitable burning software and a manual is included (both easy to find on your hard drive).
End User:
Wife, no special demands on the graphics performance (no "GTA 5" or similar), the main applications are "surfing the Web" (incl. Less online games) and "Social Networks", and (of course) sending and receiving e-mails (like sometimes "with much Klicki-Bunti").
Under this premise -
- Pro:
The purchase went professionally and quickly. To date, the installation of additional software was no problem. The acquired unit met all our expectations, is very quiet, works at least 4 hours (in power saving mode), is charged afloat again and heats up even in continuous operation in the area of the touchpad barely (or not noticeable).
- Cons:
The device may only be repaired by ASUS (or by an authorized ASUS service center). The battery is "permanently installed" and may only be replaced by ASUS (or by an authorized ASUS service center).
There are drivers for Windows 7 Professional for this device practically not - though I'm "too little expert" to look at the component suppliers for the appropriate drivers.
(Hardware ext Complies USB 3.0 specification..) Both sticks as well as an external hard drive - - In addition, the device achieved in the transmission of data no higher transfer rate compared to the likewise available USB 2.0 port. This is for our use but no real problem and no reason for complaint. Some function keys work in its "second function" under Win 7 Pro does not (the essential, such as for the "screen brightness", but already). Although this is ugly but bearable for us (and for us no reason for complaint).
Note:
The Bluetooth functionality I've (lack of demand) is not checked. The built-in webcam works, a built-in microphone does not exist, the built-in speakers are operating satisfactorily and the built-in card reader performs well behaved his service.
Conclusion:
In my view, this device was as new at the time of purchase - the price-performance ratio considered - very good. If you want to buy a notebook, the "right out of the box" works, one is very well served by X553MA mE
