Entry-level machine - only conditionally recommended

I have a lot of previous experience with sewing machines - come from a family sewing enthusiasts, my hobby-craft had learned on a Gritzner-Tretnähmaschine and an old electric sewing machine privilege. Sometime I have then - it's oh already more than two decades ago - gained a very quality, mechanical Pfaff machine.
So I was very curious to see what added value can bring me this new computer sewing machine - the brand "Singer" is indeed a myth.

My first impression of the machine out of the box: massive, enormous, much cheap plastic. No comparison to the trivalent versions of our Oldie machines. The start-up is not as easy as it should be. The instruction manual is goofy built - on each side several languages, and the special threading system will be explained only after threading and tensioning the thread. And even complicated. I was certainly on the verge of abandoning the matter again, and my previous experience with Einfädelsystemen helped me eventually but then to cope with this task yet. I can imagine that there may be even worse fare machine beginners.

Level of equipment the normal stitches are offered, along with special stitches for Overlock, buttonholes, and a small selection of decorative stitches. From a "computer sewing machine" to speak in this context, I think is completely exaggerated, because the selection of stitches and the configuration options are much too low. There was much more comprehensive, electronically controlled systems 25 years ago.

That the sewing machine with all the plastic - even the dubious plastic cover of the lower coil - makes a not so grippy and durable impression, unfortunately, is included. Because you always have to do a lot of handles on the machine while sewing (changing the coils, presser feet, needles ...) falls this poor handling in the long run quite significant.
When sewing is exceptionally loud, because it provides the size of the well hollow plastic fairing too much acoustic sound. Inconvenient if you want to work in the living room or so when others are present.

The selection of the different stitches works well, and we had a total of no problems with the thread tension. However, the engine is repeatedly stopped beeping during slow stitching on normal fabric and fair without a reason was recognizable.
The seams are otherwise perfect, the decorative stitches when she needs for now, very accurate.

Overall, a machine that is for beginners who want the same have a wider choice of stitches available in order. However, you should consider whether a simple machine to get started also sufficient or whether one goes into a much higher value equal to segment in the sewing machine.
