Basically the dashcam is not really usable. The software Unieye Map can be found in the internal memory of the Cam. To install this you need a mini USB cable which is not included here. But installing the software, you can save 64-bit operating system safely on to a Windows. Unieye Map only runs on 32-bit operating systems. Who installed Windows with 64-bit can ever forget. But even under a Windows 32-bit system, did not open in a backup directory the files.
Only when you insert the microSD card, and then click the drive where the SD card inserted, the data will be recognized and played by the program. The program itself is very poor and therefore the playing of the data is connected to a bucking. Even with a high-tech PC. A Mac version looks in vain without towards. The protocols in the data are bland. There are no speed records yet, you can enter a car mark in the settings. Formatted to a Micro SD card to 6GB always reserved for an unknown purpose. For what should be this reservation, about one finds nowhere information. What you also look in vain are release notes. Werder the software nor the firmware version has information. On the website of Rollei can be found only a defective manual and datasheet for Car DVR-210th A support or evidence of firmware are nowhere.
One does today probably no longer bother to make a good support. But that's what I want as a customer! A good support for a product in this price range.
But these deficiencies and the poor support are enough to dashcam returned again for me reason!
In order to make the most important settings you need the app for Apple iOS Rollei Car DVR or Android. However, both versions can be much to be desired. But the recognition is a real disaster. In the LAN settings of the iPad or a smartphone, the cam must be recognized only once. After you start the app. which, however, has problems to detect the cam properly. Loses the app. once the connection to the Cam, lubricates the app. downright from. Since this quite often occurred under iOS 8.1.2 I had to start several new iPad by then. In the settings of the app to get. Like Android. The Live view jerky to the very strong. So it make little fun with the apps to work. If you do not need this for the settings, you could safely do without it. There are a lot of negative which makes handling and configuration options relate. As one of the biggest weaknesses I find the fact that you have to rely on the apps to configure the Car DVR-210 WiFi GPS. Negative is also the external GPS receiver.
Why has not this integrated is a mystery to me.
Now few words about the quality of the recordings. You can set two different resolutions. Once the Full HD 1920x1080 in 16: 9 and 30fps
and once in Super HD 2304x1296 16: 9, 30fps. The quality is good, but could convince me not really the image.
Anyone who has viewed the significantly cheaper Rollei Car DVR-110, receives for almost one third of the purchase price a similarly good picture, is blessed with an integrated GPS receiver,
can all settings at the Cam itself and do also still gets a reasonably more mature firmware.
Those who already have a dashcam, should be an upgrade to the Car DVR-210 WiFi GPS consider very good. For me this is dashcam but not an option. At this cam there is still much catching up to do, particularly with regard to the software Unieye Map, the firmware and the setting possibilities.
The price-performance ratio is in any case the performance of the Car DVR-210 WiFi GPS. But even for half the price I would not buy a dashcam with so many deficiencies and such poor support again.
