The ACE III looks like the big brother of ACE Metro. The metro was really fun but why should I even almost 100 euros more to spend on a breathalyzer?
The manufacturer praises: "ACE III - the successor of the multiple test winner ACE II and the premium class for their own use".
What is there but as "super premium" that justifies a price of just under 300 euros?
I tried to find out and here's the things that distinguish the AceIII of the other devices / stand:
1.) The device has a built-in mouthpiece to pull out. This makes it easy to use on the go. One does not need more than a place for a smart phone (you have no Mouthpieces rumschleppen with it).
2.) The device has a built-in sensor unit which can be exchanged. That means you must not send to the service but simply ordered a new sensor module the device. This module includes the way not only the sensor but also a pump. That is sämtliches wear material is renewed during sensor replacement.
The sensor I've found for just under 40 euros. I personally feel that as OK to slightly expensive.
The basic data:
Comes in padded Palstikkoffer (outside hard plastic, shock-absorbing inner content protection). Dimensions: 15,5x14x4cm.
Content:
ACE III alcohol tester + sensor module (inserted)
Small transport bag for travel (material, dimensions: 11,5x9x1,5cm)
Mouthpieces
Operating instructions
2 batteries Bexel (Alkaline) - Duracell would have preferred ...
The device itself:
Has very high. Besides my Galaxy S3 Smartphone AceIII the cooler comes off. Or maybe just because I've been apart from me Samsung.
Dimensions: 10,2x4,5x1,5cm
Weight: 100 grams with batteries Appreciated
The equipment design is lifted. Look and feel. The design seems to be very robust. To open the device is similar to a Samsung smartphone (with so little check mark on the cover). Behind the opening conceals said sensor unit and the 2 batteries (AAA).
This device can I use personally and for the operation. The manufacturer speaks of the "class for their own use". This could be an inference that one plants still recommends more expensive devices (ACE holds in range). I think a more expensive device is not necessary and the ACE III is with the sensor change even the ideal candidate for enterprises. After all, I must not send complicated for the calibration through the area there.
The measurement results are almost identical to Dräger and the smaller brother ACE Metro (what was expected).
With a set of batteries can be between 500 and 1000 tests make (lt. To manufacturer).
My conclusion: The ideal breathalyser for businesses and personal use. Here the designers were innovative, but also demand "real money for the value of labor." However there are many more expensive devices but in my opinion no great advantage in my basic requirements mean (private use on myself / operational use for deterrence) more.
For buyers who want to use it only in private and save money: ACE Metro (in my opinion, the smaller brother of AceIII). Not only cheaper but also more "design and colors."
