The device operates in the kitchen and has in 3 months once beaten alarm because it has smoked while cooking. False alarm no. It is great that you can turn a possible alarm instantly and easily on the large button for 15 minutes silence. Turns then again actively. Great feature, which I would have done the time on a DIP switch. But for home use are okay 15 min. You can also switching off the smoke sensor and allow only the temperature sensor active. But after you can turn off a false smoke alarm while cooking quickly, I have both left active. Attachment and detachment of the smoke alarm is designed with DIP switch under the battery, so do not for daily change. All around a good device, a pity that it is so expensive, otherwise I would have taken 10 pieces and the whole house equipped. But as the cost Dorfer used there where no steam could disturb the device.
