Good overall package with no major flaws - buy recommendation!

After reading several mixed reviews of this television device, in which "no-gos" were like watering a similar tone, noise in dark image mentioned etc., I decided with some hesitation still for sale. And was pleasantly surprised. The sound is quite normal, as you would expect from a TV. No watering sound tinny nothing, no distortion even at higher volume, an overall balanced, natural sound. When comparing next provides a high-end facility and listening to music, you will probably find differences. But hey, sometimes remained on the carpet: It's a TV!
I Whistling, chirping or buzzing sound can no notice (although I hear well), either in operation or in standby. Even when not listening carefully. I use the TV in the bedroom, so I was important.
The menu is good, visually nice and simple, the menu looks visually from pretty and it reacts when navigating the menu immediately (!) To key presses on the remote control (which is now already more except for devices ...).
The image quality is as you would expect from a TV, I have no defects found (no gradients, good viewing angle, uniform appearance, no streaks, etc ...)
Toshiba provides the device with a 14-page diagram. Find crass I, that there is something still there today.
The tuning is clearly structured analog, digital antenna, analogue cable, digital cable, etc in antenna, you can choose TV channels are found quickly. The stations are on the device thanks to the fast-reacting remote control and the good sorting system (you can jump in, select and enter the target number of the channel if you do not meet exactly, the transmitter is inserted in between)
Failures such as lost channel lists, broken parts, etc., there was in the first week yet, so I can say little about the reliability of the device. I hope but that one may hope by the theoretical suitability as a Hotel TV in a longer lifespan than 24 months.
The media player for listening to MP3s supports next to the Artist / Title Mode also a real file browser. I think that's great, because I sort my MP3s by folder and file name, and not by album.
Changing TV channels is still passable with about 2 seconds.
You can update the firmware via USB, Toshiba maintains and sorts the versions quite exemplary.

Among the drawbacks:
The (detailed) documentation (with the exception of the circuit diagram) rather poor. For example, any advertising for the device with the hotel mode is advertised in almost that makes a save the channel list on a USB Stick possible to edit it on a PC. How rankommt there, but Toshiba is silent, I have found the hidden key combination also not after a long search on the Internet. There are many different felt the same secret codes such as TVs models from Toshiba. Press "Mute" on the remote control, then press again and hold and simultaneously press the volume + button on the unit is only one of many that are not working.

The USB media player needs some time to load (2-3 sec), the operation is not very intuitive. For example, only the full user guide (which you have to download it first, the link to the website is available in the accompanying Quick Start Guide) documented how to play a number of songs and not just a ... (not the large Enter key, but a tiny play button!). What some symbols mean, I have not yet figured out, is probably a "repeat", which will only work when playing the song with "Enter" and not with "Play" ... being required further research ...
If one has once understood / found that usability should be but quite good, the quick response of the remote control makes up for a lot.

The photo player is of little use. It works, but needs about 2 seconds to load a picture. Short time by zapping a photo album can not. But who is already looking photos on their TV. I can not say, have not tried it over the USB Video Player.

Recording to USB or Timeshift there are not (or maybe and it's just not documented? I believe it is possible!)

When trying out the TV out of the box I have a test basis connected a small DVB-T antenna. Here I noticed that the sound and the picture were not synchronized, there was a significant difference of about 300 msec. Newscasts looked like bad soap operas dubbed. The problem occurs probably only in very poor reception level on, when connected to the cable network, the problem was gone. However, I want to point out this observation.

Conclusion: good overall package with some minor quirks. I recommend buying and would buy the TV itself again.
