Meanwhile, I have made about 500 pictures with the camera and want to talk about my personal experience. The camera is high quality and fits comfortably in your hand. For battery power, rather below average more than 200 images with Wlanübertragung was not possible for me. Battery is therefore mandatory, and unfortunately overpriced. My expectations of the 1 inch sensor were large, and have also been fulfilled except for a few aspects. Exemption potential very well relative, Lowlight with manual adjustment very well, autofocus in automatic range rather not fail, but can be influenced relatively well with touch focus. Auto white balance indoors rather bad, outside good. Work better with a manual white balance in lowlight. Setting options are plentiful, and relatively well structured and searchable. Who is, however, dealt only with the automatic mode, in my view, not be happy with the G7 x. As for picture quality, I had high expectations from the description and advertising of Canon. If I prefer because the sensor size comparisons with the Panasonic FZ 1000 I am a little disappointed, at least in terms of clarity and noise performance. Both cameras are really not directly comparable if only because the different lens. But what the tester, I can not quite understand see partially. Canon G 7 X 93 pixels and Panasonic FZ 1000: 88 pixels. On the considered screen the images of Panasonic are sharper. This is of course my view, therefore, the points would have to be changed in my view. Nevertheless makes the G7 X as compact camera good pictures but not very good. When "always there" ideally suited and well stowed, but only with good pocket, otherwise the lens is dusty quickly. I am now looking forward to the appearance of the Handbook of G7x (better images from the start). Perhaps the book shows more settings I've been overlooked, to go to the very good image quality. My conclusion: Who can also set the camera manually, will certainly be able to get more quality. Positive one must also highlight the bright lens. Until then, so far so good, this is my personal view after the first tests. Images once auto white balance (dark reddish), and even manual white balance.
Addendum on 10/04 .: After further intensive work with the camera and reading the book (better images from the start) I have a part of my statement audit. First of all, who by reading the book and with the G7x works will clearly be able to get more potential, in terms of better pictures and setting options. (Is not so in the operating instructions) Meanwhile, I am very satisfied with the picture quality. In the 100% view on the screen in the above comparison, the G7x in terms of clarity and noise nose clear front. Was not visible at normal viewing. Now I understand the test magazines with their evaluation. Thus, each camera has its field of application and its justification. I mainly use the diaphragm mode and the program AE. Also from the HDR function, I am pleasantly surprised, makes ordinary results. Have the camera to be able to almost always there to make one or another snapshot. As for the focal length, the two cameras complement each other perfectly, for me, a dream team ;-)) A note on the sensitivity of the camera, I can not help myself: Who says the G7x in trouser or jacket pocket without Hard Case or bag to carry and wonders the dust and dirt coming into the optics and the bladed shutter damage, in my opinion is your own fault , The 12 euros for a Hard Case, for example, can one because of trouble. The battery problem is now solved, batteries of different manufacturers in the 20 euro area are available and useful. So now I wish all good pictures and a lot of fun with the camera!
