My impression is that it offers more than many of the "classic" digital cameras, but you can still enjoy the benefits of the compact class. The camera is small and handy. You might not necessarily fit in a jeans pants pocket, but rather in a purse or pocket sides of cargo pants, but they can still beautifully simple plug.
The big advantage is that they are simply more flexible and usable with the 12 times optical zoom than other compact cameras. For longer distances can be personalized with the Canon still achieve good results.
Of course, the Canon also offers different scenes (portrait, landscape etc.) and also a few "fun filters" (Fish-eye Effect, monochrome, miniature effect) .However, the camera is in Auto mode beautiful pictures.
From the Operation ago, is a typical Canon. Navigation is via buttons and wheel (no touch), which I personally find good. Everything is very intuitive.
Let's talk about the peculiarities of the camera:
- It is not operated by a rechargeable battery, but by conventional batteries. I actually prefer rechargeable batteries, since there the term is greater. However, this was at the Cannon here no problem, the runtime is very good for a battery-operated camera. In addition, this can also be an advantage, unless he is on a longer trip and can easily recharge batteries without relying on electricity.
- No auto-flash. I was initially very puzzled why the camera flash to not turn when I have used them in darker situation. You have to open the flash manually in the Canon! Why that was made so, I do not quite understand; perhaps for cost reasons. However, this does not really give a disadvantage. If you are unsure, you can open the flash and the auto mode, the camera will then decide if it engages the flash or not. Of course by pressing a button the possibility the flash on or off to provide.
To flash it should be said that he will take a relatively long time before it is loaded and you can use it in again. Unfortunately, several successive snapshots with flash will not.
- Large display, slightly out of focus. The display on the back of the camera is very large, with extensive use can lead to a reduction of battery time (brightness can be reduced menu). Looking at pictures on the screen, they sometimes appear somewhat grainy or fuzzy. But of them must not be fooled. On the PC, the images are then good.
Conclusion:
This is in my eyes a compact camera that offers more than the "small" digital cameras.
The large zoom and high image quality, it is perfect as a traveling companion, when a SLR would be too large or unwieldy. Of course, they can not keep up with a SLR of the settings and the image quality - which, however, do not want too.
The P / L ratio is very good in my eyes. Canon has indeed in some corners saved (flash, display ..), but the customer can thus offer an inexpensive, versatile camera.
