This CD includes only songs and no score (instrumental film music). The song selection is well and fairly, just the songs that can be heard in the film, make the CD. My highlights are definitely Kissing You by Des'Ree and the beautiful Angel of Gavin Friday!
The best known is probably Lovefool by The Cardigans be also super!
The rest is about at the same level: Good, but not outstanding. The songs remind of Cruel Intentions (Cruel Intentions original angel), but not as powerful. Above all, the reason is that some of the titles do not appear in the film. Add to this the titles are indeed very different, but just goes by flutes sometimes the connection. This CD provides rather for the way to hear, I think.
There are with Young Hearts Run Free by Kym Mazelle the grandiose party song of the ball scene and also the beautiful Everybodys Free from the church scene with Lorenzo.
51 minutes can be found on this plate to music and bad music is not, but it would have the soundtrack done better if they had more songs from the film packed to.
Conclusion: People with experimental musical tastes will surely have fun on the CD, and the hardcore fans of the film. But who wants to hear the wonderful score by Craig Armstrong, should resort to Vol. 2. Vol. 1 nevertheless offers some great highlights from the film (Kissing You and Angel!) That you should not be missed, therefore four stars for this CD!
