Nevertheless, I have bought a second home in the V477 with a new devil MK25 5.1 system and could therefore easily compare the two AVR.
The Einmessystem the Yamaha is much faster than the Denon Audysee denoch the sound of the Denon without additional adjustments much better. However, this can also be attributed to the nature of the different rooms so I do not want to criticize the Yamaha why.
What is crucial are the connection possibilities where you have to buy at an extra Yamaha adapter, for example, for Bluetooth, the Denon has already integrated. Also Wifi one misses the Yamaha vain. In addition, the Denon has Berits a 2-zone system to speakers and instead 7.2 to be able to distribute in 2Räumen and output audio separately. That's in this price range usually not available.
The setup and the setup menu of the Denon are much better built and better than the Yamaha.
The Denon also has a web server with which you directly can control without an app using a browser on the receiver! The Yamaha has no Web server so you can not remotely control from your PC / Mac browser by the Yamaha. I find that very unfortunate because there still people out there who, like me, want to change the volume and input source from your desktop via PC and browser instead of a smartphone.
The sound is otherwise as always with top Yamaha, in this price range (Mid Range and mainstream) but in my opinion there are no major differences.
Conclusion:
Unfortunately, Yamaha has saved on connectivity and other things ... Too bad because I was always Yamaha Fan and still am.
The setup and graphical setup menu is outdated and needs to be made cumbersome by remote control (no keyboard, for example).
The receiver has basic equipment but super sound.
I would grab the next time an alternative ...
