Last week, a Seagate ST1000MD003 get bought by the company Peak Audio, supplied with shipping Amazon. I had set the hard drive Buy from Amazon in recent years because of poor packaging. Now it rushed and so I reached back to Amazon. Unfortunately, there is seemingly no Seagate drives the Standard Series, which are not only shipped from Amazon, but also sold by Amazon. Then you could predict more about the quality of the package, as I had experienced bitter now. For the current supply of 2 Seagate ST2000MD001 whose seller the company MoreMac and Amazon is only the sender, I must draw the conclusion that the way in which the hard drive is protected itself against damage, is determined by the selling company and Amazon employees only decide how much is too large may be the board and how much wrapping paper sheet is used as filling material. The Seagate ST1000MD003 was so packed by two plastic moldings in its own, tailor-made cardboard that the hard drive had no direct contact with the enclosing box. For this size cardboard Amazon had obviously the right carton, so that the only sheet used enough wrapping paper to prevent the box back to the hard disk in the outer carton and can fly up. The company provides MoreMac obviously their Seagate ST2000MD001 wrapped only in bubble wrap to Amazon. Amazon uses a box has 8 times the volume of the two hard drives and again exactly 1 sheet of wrapping paper. Thus, the hard drives - as in the past - move as free bullets in a box. On one side of the box is pierced. (Whether it was the hard drive is of course just a guess). CONCLUSION: One of the two Seagate ST2000DM001 is the first installation within seconds a vibrating sound and prevents the PC starts up by the BIOS. (Every now and a new experience). 30 hours after task my order shows Amazon in entering the same product name another supplier at. So is a good experience with the packaging of a supplier of only very recently the benefit. Hence my title: HDD shopping at Amazon's gamble
