while I have great home headphones, I go regularly annoyed about the in-ears. Sound acceptable, but no more and just including cable. An upgrade was needed and after the Bose SoundLink mini box was a winner for me, I was also quite fast at the SoundLink On-Ears. The reviews and customer opinions here were great, so ordered.
The short version: Unfortunately, the headset (KH) are not as good as desired, which is why I sent them back. Below I will go into detail on why the KH went back and what is still good / very good at them. Short front away: the KH were compared primarily with Sennheiser HD595 (open, over-ear cable) AKG K450 borrowed (closed on-ear, cable) and different types of music.
o Price: I bought it attached here for 219. The price is not right in my standings, but I think it's that guided my demands on the KH am called Price.
First of all, the "exterior" and for processing:
+ Very soft ear pads
+ Customer value adjustment on the bracket
+ Good folding mechanism that was used in which metal
+ A simple / "adult" Design -> eg adult vs. Sennheiser MM400x etc.
+ Storage: Practical and stable. If the KH but just are not inside, then you can quite flatten (+).
+ Turquoise cable as colored accent (although I have not tested the KH with cable)
+ Buttons have good tactile feedback and
++ Mechanical on / off switch, which is stable and top works
o The rotation of the pinna could go further (currently there are maybe 30-40 degrees in both directions)
Software:
+ Speech for pairing
+ Battery status is told in 10% increments (or I just had the good fortune always to make exactly the KH in increments of 10?)
+ Key commands (Lauter / Leister, pause, etc.) fold super
- For me, the quality of the German voice is unfortunately quite inferior to the English (Certainly whining at a high level, but the price is the claims)
Bluetooth:
+ No pairing problems (iPad, MacBook, Windows Phone)
+ Double connection to two sources
+ Range fully sufficient (5 meters successfully tested) in my opinion
o Double: If you "jumps back and forth" with the audio source, it sometimes does not work quite right away. But to get over.
o Scattered and very short disconnections.
But now the most important thing, the sound:
+ Warm, slightly bass-heavy, but pleasant sound
o For private On-Ears also "considerable detail" in the highs and mids, but see below ...
o Running (= / jogging) hear (at least I) the occurrence. Depending on footwear, it is more or barely perceptible. The AKG had this too, but a little less.
- Why Bose has waived integrating aptX? I would estimate that would have been something to get out of the quality.
- I'm missing in some places, especially when compared to the Sennheiser, the "airiness" / spatiality of the sound. Of course, this is also the design owed, but as written above, the claims were high. That's less noticed in pop, hip hop, rock, but at different classical pieces.
The rest:
* Battery: + 12 hours, I would guarantee, possibly more, depending on the volume
* Hands-free function: - I had expected more. I can hear the other person quite well, but I have even (especially if I do not sit in the silent room) very noisy talk. The supplied headset of the phone got better / same way - but that has surprised me.
* Cable function: Not tested.
* Sound isolation: + spontaneous could almost think that KH had Noice Canceling, (but you still hear, unfortunately, enough). Btw .: airplane noise though insulated, but one nevertheless gets.
Personal downside: The KH press my right ear. I have now tried all possible settings at the hospital with all positions in my ear through, but it will not work out. After about an hour, it is disturbing and after 1 1/2 the KH must down. => The main reason why the KH decrease.
Why "only" 3 stars:
The sound could be better, the hands-free function (MMN) as well and to get little things. Actually, that would be 4 stars. But the price is the claims, so that even little things and neutral points are critically evaluated. Finally, I had probably after the SoundLink Mini Box hope that Bose has managed to bring back a great, powerful sound in a small, wireless housing. For that I would have been willing to pay the rather high price, unfortunately, this is here, at least for me, not the case.
Even though I forgive only three stars, I hope that the review will help a few people and does not mercilessly gevoted of "Fanboys" down.
*** *** Addendum
I have to keep the headphones in retrospect benefit that it has helped that I got to know my preferences better. So there I now travel to the Bose QC25 back grab (since now over 2 weeks in use), since comfort, active NC and sound fit (with active NC) - for QC25 have / I will write no recession, because the present super depict my image (4 of 5 stars, the sound without active NC is bad). I've noticed when I'm eh 1-10 hours (train / plane) in the same place, then do not bother a cable anyway. For everything that is not in the house and still travel, search / I test continues to in-ear Bluetooth version because I have concerns that on-ear KH for my head shape (or my ears) are rather inappropriate.
