Greatest Hits - Chapter One (Audio CD)

Customer Review

A little more than ten years ago it is now that Kelly Clarkson was the first winner emerged from the talent show "American Idol". What followed, was and is a successful international career with andCountry five studio albums, many singles, tours and success.
An interim conclusion that career now takes the first Best Of album "Greatest Hits: Chapter One", which contains 21 of the largest and best hits of Miss Clarkson.

But everything from the beginning: Kelly's career and their music

In September 2002, Kelly Clarkson won the then completely new talent show "American Idol", a counterpart to the British "Pop Idol", which as a 'Germany in this country Idol "is known. In the early years of the talent show boom it went really still all about finding true talents. And such a talent was with Kelly found. For the victory, she received a recording contract. She took many months to her first album "Thankful" record, which finally appeared in April 2003 and its sound was a combination of powerful pop and pleasant soul songs. From this album are on "Greatest Hits" songs " Miss Independent "," The Trouble With Love Is "and Kelly's winning song at American Idol," A Moment Like This "(quasi the mother of all casting winner song) included.
"Thankful" could retract great success especially in the US, where it reached double platinum, but also in some anderern, English-speaking countries.

But the worldwide success came with Kelly's second album, "Breakaway". So they went away from the Soul of the debut album and put the focus on strong pop-rock songs. The album was released in late 2004 in the US, where it struck almost like a bomb, and 2005 in Germany, where the success (as in many other countries around the world) only gradually established. With the release of more and more songs on the album appear to the world always got tired of Kelly Clarkson: In 2006 she was at the height of their success: 6 x platinum in the US, 4 x platinum in the UK, 3 x Gold in Germany, four global mega-hits, 12 million albums sold and two Grammy Awards to be brief times together.
Are included in "Greatest Hits" from the "Breakaway" era the following songs: "Since U Been Gone" and "Behind These Hazel Eyes," two strong pop-rock uptempo songs, "Because Of You", one of the perhaps best ballads of music history in which Kelly handles the separation of their parents, "Breakaway," a mid-tempo number written (as you can hear clearly) by Avril Lavigne, "" Walk Away ", a fast, very radio-friendly pop song and, last , but not least, a live version of "Beautiful Disaster", which promises absolute goose bumps!

In 2007 a new musical era for Kelly Clarkson broke: With "My December," she published in the summer of an album that was very much darker settled more rocking and a little further away from the typical mainstream. Many songs on the album has even co-wrote Kelly. Even before the Veröffenlichtung there were some reports that Kelly's record company was not satisfied with the sound of the album, and it certain sums of money have commanded, that they exchange a few songs. But Kelly did not respond and continued her own opinion through a remarkable thing, especially in this day and age where many musicians are quasi "remote controlled" by their record companies.
From "My December," a song on the Best Of is only obtained: "Never Again", a fast, dark pop rock number. In the accompanying video Kelly pursued as a kind of prosecuting angel her ex-boyfriend.

2009 went Kellys musical way again cheerful further: With the new single "My Life Would Suck Without You" she conquered the worldwide radio and singles charts. The album "All I Ever Wanted" soon followed, specifically in March. Musically followed up the album on "Breakway", but was a little more versatile; sporadically flowed also punk and soul elements with a.
In "Greatest Hits" can be found from this era following songs: "My Life Would Suck Without You", a very catchy, fast pop song which has similar, although somewhat louder "I Do Not Hook Up", and finally "Already Gone "a quiet ballad, co-written and produced by OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder.

In the fall of 2011 that came out to date last new studio album of Kelly Clarkson: 'Stronger'. The album offers a good blend of pop-rock songs that something friendly, and something darker come along; In addition, some songs are also assigned to the genre of, especially in the United States very popular Countrypop.
On the "Greatest Hits" album we find the following "Stronger" rhythm song "Stronger (What Does not Kill You)", an uptempo pop song with some electric elements, which, incidentally, to date Kellys most successful song in the USA is, "Mr. Know It All", a pleasant mid-tempo track, "Do not You Wanna Stay (feat Jason Aldean)," a Countrypop song and "Darkside", a dark, powerful voice pop song.

In addition, three brand new songs included on "Greatest Hits":
- "Catch My Breath", a pop song that carries on where "What Does not Kill You" has stopped
- "People Like Us", one for Kelly realtiv untypical, but absolutely brilliant song with hymns character
- "Do not Rush", a shallow country song
And finally, is also still - to match the coming weeks - a beautiful Christmas song on the album: With "I'll Be Home For Christimas" Kelly ringing with angelic voice the most beautiful time of the year :)

Buyer the deluxe edition, see beyond even a DVD with fourteen music videos of Kelly. Unfortunately, that is not all, but the selection has been made in any case well: From "Miss Independent", where Kelly at a party the "Miss Independent," as the song title suggests, is about "Behind These Hazel Eyes" (my personal favorite video of her), where they can stand her unfaithful fiancé at the altar, to "What Does not Kill You," where you can admire a great choreography for the song.

Kelly Clarkson is truly an absolute exceptional talent in the music world. She has a magnificent voice, which has evolved over the past ten years Musikkarierre ever, writes and acts themselves with their music, so that the fans actually ever get some of Kelly himself heard and not only the works of x-arbitrary songwriters, and despite the many successes Kelly has always remained on the carpet and looks absolutely authentic and natural. Moreover, Kelly sings at performances exclusively live, and never playback, sounding mostly even better than on CD.

Especially in Germany, Kelly has not quite get in my view in the aftermath of "Breakway" the attention they would have actually earned their talent. To this end, I hope that we in this country gets in the media and at all times to see again more of Kelly and listen to it is to wish her in any case.
But Anyway, Kelly is still there, still makes music successful and will hopefully make even long years so on. The album "Greatest Hits: Chapter One" is in any case for old as well as new Kelly and music fans an excellent investment.

Another tip: The new fans who will enjoy this "Greatest Hits" should quietly listen sometimes in Kelly's studio albums, because these are among the few albums where really every single song is great! ;)

I am looking forward to "Greatest Hits: Chapter Two," or whatever there may come from Kelly ...!
