A Google account is required to use full functionality of this smartphone can. Fortunately, I have such a account for over 10 years and had to create a new :-).
But it is in this review not to Google but to LG E400.
I could compare it directly to the LG P350 Optimus Me predecessor and must say it has been significantly improved. One of leading the way. It is a budget smartphone and entry-level device, the cheapest (new) phone with Android OS! Of course one must not functions like Samsung Galaxy SIII etc. expected.
So what has now improved:
- Better processor: 800Mhz (naturally Single Core) - old 600Mhz
- More Memory: 1GB internal - old to 200MB
- Better battery with 1500mAh - old 1280
- The last available Android 2.3 (except 4.0, which would not work with this hardware) - old 2.2
- Slightly larger screen at 3.2 "- old 2.8"
What else noticed more positive to me:
- The operation (touch screen) is very smooth with good response times
- With the new housing form is the phone comfortably in your hand
- Good times (especially in Standby)
- Many young children 'diseases of P350 are gone (eg apps can be grouped into categories zuklappbaren).
The resolution has remained the same at 320x240. If would have been even here reworked, this smartphone deserves 6 stars.
I give this smartphone 5 Stars. Before buying one should ask whether it is the right smartphone for you.
This I would recommend if the following criteria are met:
- You do not want to spend too much money - less than 150 EUR
- You will be using the phone primarily calls and write SMS and check from time to mail and use something Apps
- You will not want to play super nice (and resource-hungry) games from the Android Market
- You do not want a huge machine before something small like good old phones, so size is important
- You want to use an Android smartphone with a possibility Apps
- You do not necessarily need an AMOLED display and would be able to live with a moderate display (no blaze of color etc)
- And last: you're not a Google-hater and would be willing to create a Google Account :-)
Update 2012-11-20: sometime the updates have to vorsintallierten apps like Google Maps and Google Books, etc. almost occupies the entire internal memory, so that nothing was installed.
I then ventured the Rooting what has turned out to be kids. Now all I have not benlötigt been uninstalled by using Titanium Backup converted some system apps into user apps and also uninstalled. Since then, the smartphone runs felt more fluid. Speaking of which, when switched off WLAN and data the battery lasts about 2 weeks - actually an incredible time for a smartphone.
Since September there gabs no software updates more - it will probably be no more.
