The unit is available now to purchase for 99 euros and I have to say, as many before me, that's an absolutely unbeatable price-performance ratio.
For the last 2 years I have a HTC Legend phone and was obsessed by the build quality and the performance in general very enthusiastic. I was however sorry my constantly working phone and my personal cell phone to carry around with me and got me therefore decided to buy a dual SIM phone. However, I did not want to give up Android, there are some apps that help me everyday and that I could not live without.
The more surprised I was about the feel of the Alacatel what really does not feel like 99 euros. Only the screen that is not like the HTC made of glass, is not nearly so high for me. So came here right afterwards a screen protector. The screen is also one of three criticisms. The Tastaur (TouchPal) reacts with a slight delay and -it may also at my sausage fingers lying is not very accurate, so I sometimes mistype me is not happening to me at HTC, which has the same screen size. Furthermore, it sometimes happens that it takes to appear all apps and widgets on the screen for 2-3 seconds after an application has been closed. The last point of criticism is that the phone comes preloaded with some apps, what is in and of itself not a bad idea, just let this when initially example will not play pinball or not Google Plus and Twitter needs to make is to not de-install some the minimal data storage capacity .... lost a pity. Otherwise, I think the sound quality excellent, the memory can be expanded to 32GB with an appropriate SD card music playback is very good (I've Power AMP downloaded) and the processor does, despite its low clock frequency do a good job and gives you smooth operation unless too many programs running in the background. The browser runs smoothly and multitouch (ie the "pinch to zoom") is working properly.
This phone is a Dual Sim Standby Cell. This means you can be reached on both SIM cards without having to switch. But as soon as a SIM card is active, the other is blocked. Phone conversations one on one, you can not be reached on the other. The same applies for data traffic. To surf on SIM1, one is on SIM 2 nciht accessible. To SIM 1 nachwievor calls come through unless you have the settings menu GPRS Prio enabled. The traffic is stopped and the call is put through. SIM 1 radioed the way to 3G and 2G SIM 2to.
Man kan individually choose which SIM you want to use for which function (call, SMS, traffic) or if you want to decide each time which card you use for call or SMS.
I turn on the traffic during the day and use the evening at home my WIFI network and thus come to only 2 days of battery life. Traffic all day means about 24 hours of run time .....
Bottom line, I am very satisfied with the phone, despite the three negative points. An absolute buy recommendation for or the one looking for a simple but functional smartphone. Certainly not recommended for the "App Junkie", because the built-in memory is too small. The selection of apps should therefore be handled with care, since this does not move all apps to SD card (and still outsource data on the phone)
ADDENDUM:
A few weeks later I am still not so enthusiastic. Reasons:
The touch screen responds slowly in answer, to say that unlocking the screen is hit or miss, some missed calls have brought me almost to incandescence. Furthermore, I find the screen keyboard very inaccurate, write SMS is not fun.
That the internal memory is not very big, I had mentioned only fills up quite quickly with the cache data of the most diverse applications. The device is slow and hooked. Furthermore it often takes up to 10 seconds until after closing the browser, messages, e-mails or other applications of the homescreen rebuilding ...
After the initial joy of an effective dual SIM mobile I must confess though, that the vulnerabilities have become a problem. I would have liked to keep the phone, just turned out that I can not live with the weaknesses. As before, I think, however, that it is a good entry phone and you can familiarize yourself with prima Android with it. The download of apps should be avoided, since the internal memory is exhausted quickly, however, as far as possible.
Therefore, only 2 stars from me ... a star is for the good voice quality ...
The Alctael Customer Service is the way, is also not the best. When I asked if they could not remove the pre-installed games via software update, so that you give yourself the apps that you would like to have even herunterläd, especially the pre-installed apps in Google Market cost nothing eh came, only a terse "no" ... .. shame ...
