No rotation no extinction of the Ipad and pricey

Everything is in the title or almost: if the hull is of good quality and that it effectively enables multiple reading positions (3 and 2 in steps by folding the flap), all in portrait mode only: others are cheaper.

Was it so difficult to implement the Smart Cover function (when closing off the main flap)?
