The game is very similar to the well-known and allseitsbeliebten Heroes of Might and Magic Part 1-infinity.
I can only advise to Heroes to buy AOW III is a very good game but am unable to captivate for more than 40-60 hours. Multiplayer mode works with many players do not (support site in English; also does not help)
Biggest criticism:
Bad units balancing (Gold dragon or flying horsemen armies make any AI opponents on the hardest difficulty Platt).
Little Game depth (until you understand the rather complex gameplay with its many values, etc., the game already begins also to be bored.
Little tactics needed (you need not really herumzutaktieren, you can in any Skirmish game 40 times click to the next round until you have the best units and thus flattening the map, no real incentive unfortunately. The battles are pretty dull by partial excessive combat spells.
An Example
One can already loose arrive with 3-4 gold dragon against 20-30 level 2-3 units -> quite funny but me motivated only 1-2 games, then ists boring.
If you want a nice game for 30-60 hours studied with looser AI and a very good campaign is in good hands here, but I would not play for 40, re - purchase, half would be appropriate.
Thanks everyone for the feedback on my first review!
