Nothing wrong but not that much better

Who Fallout 3 has fallen, will make New Vegas with nothing wrong. Meanwhile, there are already some positive reviews I can only agree. Therefore, I will in my review save me descriptions of graphics, play control, sound, and so on.

I played the game on the Normal difficulty 18h in Hardcore mode.
The story is not connected with Fallout 3 at, but tells its own. However, there is a gain to a small eye-opening experience for Fallout fans of the first hour nice links to Part 2.

Mama's boy, or at Hardcore?
The world looks like in Fallout 3. No better and no worse. The Hardcore mode (eating, drinking, ammunition with weight ') is very good. Thus, I can not just lie down somewhere to sleep to regenerate my health. Man must also consider what weapons one takes and what their ammunition, because weight plays in HC mode a bigger role than ever. This, however, is the micromanagement of inventory but higher, because you have to think carefully about what you do and how long you "out there" as one remains indeed room for the many things found needed. Space problem:
In the beginning I had a space problem. I am a man which can separate heavy from things found (weapons, armor, etc) in games and who knows Fallout, knows that there is much to collect, find and are discovering. But this problem is solved when one takes a companion (max. 2) in the party. Which you can then give all the ammunition found, armor, weapons. But that's also sometime past! Where can I give my stuff?
Meanwhile I am in a city where I got a hotel room. There I can store very much in the safe. Now my companion has again space.

Companion:
Basically, there are the attendants to say that every player gives the special ability when this has in the party.
So far I have two companions in my party. I will not spoilers, so I'll describe them only vaguely. The first I have received relatively early to do so. A true relief in the truest sense of the word. Unfortunately, I can use this flying little thing that brought me an increased perception only to keep from things found. In battle, this companion is proving almost as useless and is often destroyed. As I pull rather alone through the area and does not have yet make someone worry me. Nevertheless, this guide is important because I have more space through it.
Much later, a second companion joined my cause. A person who can deal very well with the shooting iron. Quick equipped I went with this storm a camp of a hostile faction. Holding out what and what brings in the fight. For this he marks the opponent through the sighting with a weapon (iron sights) which I really like because thus opponents to be taken super stand behind bushes. My first companion ekes meantime his existence in my hotel room. That is unfortunately not so fieldabillity but finally a must indeed guarding the camp. ;) I wonder if new companions are more useful.

Error:
As others have described, there are unfortunately a couple of minor to moderate graphics error, but can not harm the game. Merely disturbing are emerging as the stuttering. But even that can not match the one equal to throw in the corner and the towel. Much worse, I find the freezes and the objects disappear! In my 18h playing time there were about 4-5 Freezes. It simply remains unexpectedly hang the picture. Happens in the wild, in the inventory, at loading sequences in the fight 'one is never certain and, therefore, I recommend everyone to save your game often, even if it means the voltage suffers heavily. Sometimes objects disappear. Taking from a chest or where otherwise eg. a weapon in the inventory, it may happen that one disappears. Sometimes they disappear in its inventory, while I thought that I was the worst thieves and con artists of the Mojave Desert!

Items:
There are many different items such as weapons, armor and plants. I have previously read that you can tinker much. Especially on their own weapons. So far I'm only 3 upgrades (scope, long-running, and forbearance riflescope) encountered. It may be that I have overlooked something to search every corner despite my curiosity, or have not yet arrived with my 18h playing time at the point at which you can combine more. But besides more than 2 -... weapons to repair a collapsed was nothing exciting there. Let alone to individualize weapons. Here is the system (for now) as in Fallout 3, except that you can just make upgrades, which are also very sparse. I have since expected more that you can mess around a lot more.

So I come to the same seamless general crafting and cooking. For crafting and cooking it takes mind-boggling many different items that you constantly have to carry around with them. It pays unfortunately not, since you can always find something to eat anyway. Until now I have not tinkered what, nor yet made ammunition disassembled or create something to eat, because everything is too confusing. The Pip-Boy is very nice and nostalgic, but to manage the myriad things that you just need a horror. In addition, we already find more than enough of it all and thus not forced himself is to do everything. Too bad.

With the armor I am far too little unhappy. While there is a lot, but the meaningfulness create this comes not over. I think I'm going to walk around until the end like in Fallout 3 with the same things. An example: You find a Scheriffmantel looks visually nice and +1 to +5 charm and donated to firearms. A good thing! But I have so far found so many different armor, I've only ever sold, because no could replace this coat. Unless you then pulls for a little more protection and the optical component of something else. It is a pity that there is no longer different properties on the armor. Apart from the look and weight of the armor are the same except for minimal defense values ​​all. But I am hopeful, maybe that will come. A mixture of Borderlands and Fallout would be good here.

It is different with the weapons. Although the are also similar, but have different properties one feels due to income rates, and also ammunition. Unfortunately, you can mess around as described just as much to the weapon by together-repaired weapon several of the same type to a whole (as in Fallout 3). Although the game has earned 5 stars, I forgive due to errors and the meager differences of items (weapons, armor) only 4 stars.
Still, I can put this game to anyone fond which places great emphasis on depth and a good story about errors and shortcomings also.
