Now the thing about the Smart TV device I quickly rejected because it is too expensive.
Then I went in search of quiet mini PC, running on PC and Windows based. I thought that that would be very nice indeed to have such a MediaPC. But if you want a bit of performance and there a small enclosure which is also visually more appealing, then you get not gone below 500 euros.
Then I, too, was too expensive, I started to deal with base Mini PCs on Android. And after some back and forth and read the many reviews, I then decided to use the NEO X5. First of all I had a few apps used on my tablet to see what what are good and then it went off.
With Amazon ordered, delivered two days later and the same connected.
The installation was easy. Connected power and HDMI cables and off we went.
The wireless connection was done quickly and the other settings were done quickly.
It helps, of course, if you already familiar with Android. So if you have an Android tablet or smartphone is a clear advantage. ;-)
Android newbies will surely do something serious, since the operation via the included remote control is also really botch. You can use it while working, but that takes time and is complicated.
Personally, I've immediately added a Logitech K400 Wireless Keyboard with Touchpad ordered to do so. Which, although originally designed for PCs, but will work with the NEO X5 quite well.
The touchpad can be the "mouse" pointer good use and leaves on the keyboard to write well. There is one major thing yet. In various input screens, the keyboard does not work (for example, enter the WLAN key) and I am not so far succeeded in the "@" sign enter directly from the keyboard by "Alt + Q". Here you have to pick the characters using the visual on-screen keyboard then. Is not bad, just a bit awkward. But maybe even those like me solve nen tip for me that way.
Otherwise, all Prima. The device works fast enough and with 16GB memory that thing is already well equipped. In addition, you can still take a 32GB SD card. Access to network storage devices is also very easy and in addition also still a USB stick or a USB hard drive can be connected.
I am, however, gone over to a wired network connection to upgrade. Although the Wi-Fi works well, but by the apparently not very powerful antenna varies the transmission speed with me in some cases significantly. This leads then to the Internet video streamers is partially recharged where interruptions. That's very annoying.
Fortunately, the device but a conventional network interface and so is the stream no longer a problem.
Interestingly this is supported by the device not only DLNA, but also Apple AirPlay. I have not been tested, because I'd rather eat apples instead of wiping it, but it should work.
All in all I am satisfied with the purchase.
The star deduction is available for the weak wireless antenna and the poor remote control.
